The forum aimed to bridge trade relations between the two countries through branding innovation and market expansion strategies. <\/p>\n<p>The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to<br \/>\nSingapore, H.E Suryo Pratomo; Vice Minister of Trade of the Republic of<br \/>\nIndonesia, Dr Jerry Sambuaga; and CEO of Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), Mr. Dennis Mark,  officially opened the forum, expressed support for strengthening<br \/>\ntrade relations between the two nations. In addition to presenting Indonesia\u2019s<br \/>\neconomic outlook for the past five years and future projections, they emphasised<br \/>\nthe importance of cross-border collaboration in expanding Indonesian SME<br \/>\nmarkets and supporting the entry of Singaporean businesses into Indonesia. The<br \/>\nevent was hosted by Yulia Saksen, while Edmund Ong, CEO of BridgifyAsia,<br \/>\nmoderated the panel discussion.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to<br \/>\nKimming Yap, other key figures participated in the panel, including<br \/>\nJarius Draslaric, Chairman of the Lifestyle Industry Group (SMF), who discussed<br \/>\nthe importance of innovation and adaptation in the lifestyle industry for local<br \/>\nproducts to compete internationally. Shoeb Kagda, Chairman of SingCham<br \/>\nIndonesia, highlighted the bilateral trade opportunities and synergies between<br \/>\nbusinesses from both countries. Christie Lumban Gaol, Vice President of<br \/>\nCorporate Banking at Bank Mandiri, also participated, discussing the role of<br \/>\nbanking in supporting SME growth through financing and financial<br \/>\ninfrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>During the<br \/>\ndiscussion, Kimming Yap highlighted the enormous potential of Indonesian SMEs<br \/>\nto thrive in the Singaporean market but stressed that the biggest challenge<br \/>\nthey face lies in branding and packaging. &#8220;While many Indonesian products<br \/>\nare of high quality and ready to compete, they still need improvements in<br \/>\npackaging and branding to be accepted in international markets,&#8221; said<br \/>\nKimming Yap. Therefore, implementing the right branding strategies is crucial<br \/>\nfor Indonesian SMEs to compete on the global stage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%\" src=\"https:\/\/imagedelivery.net\/H6_s_Eb_ylTWnSEV3HlmYQ\/ef1e2647-a95e-44bf-e5d9-a1d60e3d6b00\/public\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,<br \/>\nKimming also discussed the vast opportunities for Singaporean companies in<br \/>\nIndonesia\u2019s rapidly growing market. &#8220;With strategic cooperation and<br \/>\nunderstanding of local consumer behaviour, Singaporean businesses can take advantage<br \/>\nof the opportunities to expand their markets in Indonesia,&#8221; he explained.<br \/>\nHe also emphasised the importance of partnerships to address logistical and<br \/>\nsupply chain challenges often faced by local companies in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>The forum was<br \/>\nattended by stakeholders and business leaders from Indonesia and Singapore, who<br \/>\ntogether explored opportunities to strengthen trade, build dynamic<br \/>\ncollaboration platforms, and facilitate dialogue between the two nations, which<br \/>\nhave shared diplomatic relations for 57 years. According to the latest data,<br \/>\nbilateral trade has reached USD 31 billion, with USD 15.4 billion in direct<br \/>\ninvestment from Singapore to Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>This strategic<br \/>\ncollaboration is expected to not only open up new market access but also<br \/>\nincrease the exposure of local products, making them more recognised on the<br \/>\ninternational stage. The innovation mirrors the collaboration between<br \/>\nCreativeans and BridgifyAsia, where the two work together to help Singaporean<br \/>\ncompanies access the Indonesian market and vice versa.
